Minor Heat (Xiaoshu), the fifth summer solar term (July 6–8), marks the peak of warmth. It has three signs: warm winds, crickets on walls, and soaring eagles. Folk customs include grinding new grain into pastries in the south, eating dumplings in the north, and sunning books and clothes to prevent dampness.
